We’ve come in peace…

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Not so long ago, I was on eBay looking for a cool alien figure, but all I could find was this assembling model kit. I’ve seen it a good challenge and I decided to buy the kit. This would be the first time that I would assemble and paint a model and here’s the result:

Not bad for a beginner, I thought that painting the head green would look cooler than grey. I missed the eyes a little. I’ve never been good a painting things. Back in school, when I was painting plaster model, I would always stick out from the lines and I would end up painting the thing in a single color to hide my flaws. My parents were better at painting. My mom would paint small ceramic houses to place under our Christmas tree. As for my dad, he was doing great when he was painting the faces of the ceramic figurines. This brings back many memories.

Just to kill time…

Savage Dragon meet the Ninja Turtles

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Let’s write an entry about comic books!!

Savage Dragon/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, published in September 1993. After defeating a giant living gargoyle, Savage Dragon must team with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to stop some witch from destroying the world, I guess.

I must not say that it was a great comic, but I enjoyed reading. I’ve been a big fan of the TMNT since I was five years old. Of course, I had to go beyond the cartoon and buy every TMNT comic books I could find. As for Savage Dragon, I’ve never had the opportunity to read the comics and I barely remember watching a couple of episodes from the cartoon. But reading this comic crossover made me want to get a trade paperback book of Savage Dragon. This will be something that I’ll need to order at my local comic book shop. Well, here’s one of my favorite panel from the comic:

Dragon can’t tell the Turtles apart because they’re all wear red bandanas, since it’s the comics version of the Turtles. This is also to the fact that, in the cartoon, the Turtles wear bandanas of different color to make it easier for us to tell them apart.

Next time, I’ll cover… another comic book!
