I grew bored of all that radioactive green so, I’ve decided to go for something more colorful. By the way, all the cool fonts I’ve used for this design are from Blambot. This even include the little brain dingbat I’m using as a background pattern.

What’s an Alice Cooper?

So, I have decided to create a new segment called DeviantArtist of the Day. I did this because I love to browse trough DeviantArt to discover new talented people. For me, DeviantArt is like a YouTube for the artists. There are either talented or un-talented people and others that would make me say “What the fuck?!”

So, I wanted to share with you, my dear readers, my interest for some of my favorites artists from DeviantArt. Moreover, today’s pick is Zach Bellissimo AKA SeizureDemon.

Zach Bellissimo is a NY based cartoonist attending The School of Visual Arts for animation. His wish is to create comics and short animated films, but for the moment, we can all admire his work on DeviantArt.

I first discovered Zach when he did a guest strip for Dumm Comics and I totally fell in love with his work. His style reminds of Tim Burton or John K, but it has an original touch, which is something I like in Zach’s work. It’s creepy, funny and colorful. I like it!

Most artists tend to imitate their idols instead of being inspired. I cannot count how many times I have seen Jhonen Vasquez wannabes on DeviantArt and there are an awful lot of them. To these people I would say that; we know that you wish to pay homage to your idol, but there is still a difference between inspiration and imitation.

OK! OK! I may not been an artist and I am not a critic either, but I would love to have half the talent of people such as Zach. Having such an ability to draw is a very precious gift and you must cherish it. People such as Zach tend to be original and this is why I admire them.

I love this movie! I caught the last half of it one Saturday morning on Drive-In Classics and it was awesome. I tried to get it on DVD, but since it was part of the MGM‘s Midnite Movies DVD series, it’s been discontinued. Too bad! I’ve always been a great fan on Vincent Price… Even when he played in The Hilarious House of Frightenstein which was great too.

Almost exactly as I expected.

This baby Cthulhu is cute as hell and that’s a nice addition to my collection.
