Today is Paul Reubens’ 58th birthday and I almost forgot about it. Therefore, I wish him a happy birthday and to give us more years of fun. Happy Birthday Mr. Reubens! End of line.

Corey Haim found dead.

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

After Brittany Murphy and Andrew Koenig, I just couldn’t believe it. Corey Haim has been found unconscious at his mother’s house, as reported by Times Online:

The Eighties teen heart-throb Corey Haim has died, aged 38.

The Lost Boys star passed away at 2.15am this morning at the Providence St Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California.

While the LA Coroner’s Office is yet to determine the Canadian actor’s cause of death, authorities reportedly suspect an accidental prescription drug overdose .

The actor is believed to have collapsed at his mother’s house at around 1am.

I would remember him in movies such as Silver Bullet and The Lost Boys. May he rest in peace.

The Nerd talks about Laserdisc!

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

James Rolfe, best known as the Angry Video Game Nerd, decided to make a series of videos about obsolete video formats and here’s the one about the Laserdisc:

I’ve never really heard or read about Laserdisc, when I was young. In fact, I thought they were (huge) DVDs. I remember that a few years ago, as I was loitering at a local flea market, I came across a Laserdisc copy of Star Trek VI, but I wasn’t interested into buying it, since I’ve never owned a disc player. Can’t wait to see the Nerd makes a video about Betamax tapes! End of line.

I’m back… Kinda.

I haven’t posted anything serious for like a month… Please, forgive my lazy ass and me for not updating thing blog more often. Lately, I’ve been having trouble with my Internet connexion; it would go out like every two minutes. As I was about to blame my cable company, I found out that the problem was due to my aging modem. This device is now 8 years old and I guess that it would definitely die very soon. Anyway, my cable company was nice enough to lend me a spare modem till they order one to replace my antique modem. I couldn’t believe this thing actually last 8 years.

On another subject, I recently bought a DVD of Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie. Since the movie was already hard to find in my area, imagine trying to find DVDs of the TV series.

It cost me $26 CAD. It seems to have no special features and no booklet. Kind of a rip-off… But hey! Since I’m a fan of MST3K, I didn’t mind paying those twenty-six bucks to acquire to masterpiece.

Of course, I have to put the DVD right beside my actual copy of This Island Earth, a bad movie to its finest.

Well, that would be all for now. If you visit the Features section, you’ll see that I uploaded a dozens of new avatars. I love making avatars, but it seems that I’m often running out of inspiration. So, if anyone has ideas for creating avatars, just let me know. End of line.

Star Trek!

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

I am back from seeing Star Trek… and it was fucking awesome! Even my dad liked it. He even said that it looked pretty much like HIS Star Trek. I couldn’t find any big flaws in that movie. You know, I’m not a critic and I’ll write this from a Trekkie’s perspective. It is probably the best (Star Trek) movie I’ve ever seen in my life! The storyline: Great! The special effects: Great! The action: Great! The actors: Great! Zachary Quinto is so great as Spock that he made me completely forget about Sylar. Chris Pine made a great James T. Kirk, not too Shatnerish! Simon Pegg did a little bit too much on the Scottish accent, but he was still good as Scotty. The others guys were great too. If you guy still have concerns about this movie, then you are just a bunch of assholes. Okay, you may not be assholes, but it would still be stupid to compare this film to the old Trek. This is kind of a new Star Trek and, as my dad said, it has the same spirit as the old one. The old and the new Trek could be considerate as two different universe, like DC Comics and the Earth-Two universe. You can’t remake Star Trek, but you can re-invent it. Well, I don’t have anything to say except that this movie kick Vulcan ass. According to me, you’ll be an idiot if you still don’t want to see this movie. Amelyn out!

That Guy do Watchmen.
